At StandUp for Kids – Hampton Roads, we are dedicated to increasing access, advancing equity, and creating opportunities for the young people and families we serve. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every child and young adult deserves safety, stability, and the chance to thrive—regardless of their background, circumstances, or identity.

We are committed to breaking down barriers that prevent access to essential resources, including shelter, education, healthcare, and supportive services. By working hand-in-hand with community partners, we strive to make these opportunities available to all, especially to those who have been historically underserved and marginalized.

Equity is at the center of our approach. We recognize that systemic inequalities create disproportionate challenges, particularly for youth experiencing homelessness, youth of color, LGBTQ+ youth, and young people impacted by poverty. Our programs are intentionally designed to meet individuals where they are, honor their lived experiences, and provide the tools and support needed to overcome obstacles and build brighter futures.

Creating opportunities means more than providing immediate relief—it means empowering young people to develop skills, find mentors, pursue education and employment, and gain the confidence to move from crisis to stability. By fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment, we help open doors that lead to long-term success and community belonging.
